1. Cli­ma­te pro­tec­tion now

Our goal for Regens­burg is car­bon neu­tra­li­ty, which will obli­ge all com­mu­nal busi­nesses to con­tri­bu­te towards. We want Regens­burg to be pro­vi­ded with 100% rene­wa­ble ener­gy by REWAG (the com­mu­nal ener­gy pro­vi­der), which shall be owned by the citi­zens. An office for cli­ma­te and spe­ci­es pro­tec­tion will imple­ment effec­ti­ve cli­ma­te mea­su­re for the city and ensu­res that cli­ma­te pro­tec­tion is main­strea­med across all poli­ci­es. Our aim is to have clean air every day.

2. A green mobi­li­ty guarantee

We shall put our empha­sis on public trans­port as the most envi­ron­men­tal­ly fri­end­ly and most com­for­ta­ble form of trans­port. We will sup­port the swift imple­men­ta­ti­on of the “Stadt­bahn“ (the city train) with the par­ti­ci­pa­ti­on of the public. Nobo­dy should have to wait lon­ger than 30 minu­tes for a bus. We will rede­sign the bus net­work. We will also include the Land­kreis (coun­ty dis­trict) in the fur­ther deve­lo­p­ment of public trans­port. The cost of the ticket for public trans­port in Regens­burg must be made afforda­ble for all.

3. Afforda­ble living

Buil­ding plots and apart­ments can­not be an object of spe­cu­la­ti­on. We will bet­ter equip the Stadt­bau GmbH (com­pa­ny for muni­ci­pal plan­ning) and will look to have the city take a more acti­ve role in desig­ning the real estate mar­ket in Regens­burg. We want more social housing and rent con­trol for muni­ci­pal apart­ments in Regens­burg, becau­se we beli­ve that housing is a fun­da­men­tal right.

4. Public space and culture

We will increase the qua­li­ty of life for citi­zens and crea­te high-qua­li­ty public spaces acce­si­ble to all throug­hout the who­le city. We will estab­lish long-term spaces for rehear­sals, per­for­man­ces and exhi­bi­ti­ons for artists and musi­ci­ans. The intro­duc­tion of a “Night Mayor“, which some muni­ci­pa­li­ties have alre­a­dy suc­cessful­ly imple­men­ted, will ensu­re for a peaceful atmo­sphe­re for the city’s night life.

5. No space for xenophobia

The­re shall be no space for mis­an­thro­pic ideo­lo­gies in Regens­burg. We want to pro­mo­te civic enga­ge­ment in the city through a spe­ci­fi­cal­ly desi­gna­ted Depart­ment for Demo­cra­cy. We want to incor­po­ra­te a muni­ci­pal cent­re for the docu­men­ta­ti­on of Natio­nal Socia­lism at the Regens­burg Muse­um of Histo­ry, becau­se it is more important than ever to learn from history.

6. Regens­burg is for everyone

We will impro­ve the levels of civic and cul­tu­ral par­ti­ci­pa­ti­on in our city by exten­ding the offers of the Stadt­pass (a city pass which lowers the pri­ce of public trans­port and cul­tu­ral insti­tu­ti­ons for citi­zens with lower inco­mes). We will increase sup­port for the food bank and other simi­lar faci­li­ties in Regens­burg. We will com­bat pover­ty and fight for equal oppor­tu­ni­ties. Com­mu­ni­ty Health Nur­ses will impro­ve the levels of men­tal and phy­si­cal sup­port for citi­zens in the dif­fe­rent parts of the city.

7. Sus­tainable economy

We will con­ti­nue to pro­mo­te sus­tainable busi­nesses. We will sup­port eco­lo­gi­cal, social and inno­va­ti­ve ide­as. We want to sti­mu­la­te more col­la­bo­ra­ti­on in the area of cli­ma­te pro­tec­tion bet­ween rese­arch hubs and the busi­ness sec­tor in Regens­burg. We want to work on a con­nec­ted, car­bon-neu­tral, logi­sti­cal con­cept tog­e­ther with all busi­nesses in the city.

8. Streng­thening women

We will pro­mo­te gen­der equa­li­ty, increase the repre­sen­ta­ti­on of women in public office and make the impact of poli­ti­cal decis­i­ons on women in the city bud­get trans­pa­rent. We want to impro­ve the com­pa­ti­bi­li­ty of fami­ly and care­er. We will increase the num­ber of opti­ons for women who have suf­fe­r­ed from vio­lence and will also make the­se acces­si­ble for peo­p­le with disabilities.

9. Fair­ness in traffic

We beli­ve in col­la­bo­ra­ti­on bet­ween dif­fe­rent trans­port pro­vi­ders and we sup­port the Radent­scheid (a suc­cessful citi­zens‘ peti­ti­on for easier and safer biking) and its goals. We will cham­pi­on more safe­ty for all in traf­fic. To achie­ve this, Regens­burg needs bet­ter and lar­ger bike lanes and more Fahr­rad­stra­ßen (streets which are main­ly for bicy­cles). We will build safe bicy­cles par­kings in all parts of the city.

10. Deve­lo­ping city dis­tricts further

We will streng­then city dis­tricts by crea­ting more cul­tu­ral offers and com­mu­ni­ty cen­tres, neig­bour­hood Faci­li­ties and open work­shops. The­re we will offer space for cul­tu­re and for social encoun­ters. We will include all city dis­tricts in the demo­cra­tic pro­cess by crea­ting dis­trict par­lia­ments becau­se local citi­zens know best what is most important for their neigh­bour­hoods and we under­stand that Regens­burg is a diver­se city.
