- Climate protection now
Our goal for Regensburg is carbon neutrality, which will oblige all communal businesses to contribute towards. We want Regensburg to be provided with 100% renewable energy by REWAG (the communal energy provider), which shall be owned by the citizens. An office for climate and species protection will implement effective climate measure for the city and ensures that climate protection is mainstreamed across all policies. Our aim is to have clean air every day. - A green mobility guarantee
We shall put our emphasis on public transport as the most environmentally friendly and most comfortable form of transport. We will support the swift implementation of the “Stadtbahn“ (the city train) with the participation of the public. Nobody should have to wait longer than 30 minutes for a bus. We will redesign the bus network. We will also include the Landkreis (county district) in the further development of public transport. The cost of the ticket for public transport in Regensburg must be made affordable for all. - Affordable living
Building plots and apartments cannot be an object of speculation. We will better equip the Stadtbau GmbH (company for municipal planning) and will look to have the city take a more active role in designing the real estate market in Regensburg. We want more social housing and rent control for municipal apartments in Regensburg, because we belive that housing is a fundamental right. - Public space and culture
We will increase the quality of life for citizens and create high-quality public spaces accesible to all throughout the whole city. We will establish long-term spaces for rehearsals, performances and exhibitions for artists and musicians. The introduction of a “Night Mayor“/“Night Czar“, which some municipalities have already successfully implemented, will ensure for a peaceful atmosphere for the city’s night life. - No space for xenophobia
There shall be no space for misanthropic ideologies in Regensburg. We want to promote civic engagement in the city through a specifically designated Department for Democracy. We want to incorporate a municipal centre for the documentation of National Socialism at the Regensburg Museum of History, because it is more important than ever to learn from history. - Regensburg is for everyone
We will improve the levels of civic and cultural participation in our city by extending the offers of the Stadtpass (a city pass which lowers the price of public transport and cultural institutions for citizens with lower incomes). We will increase support for the food bank and other similar facilities in Regensburg. We will combat poverty and fight for equal opportunities. Community Health Nurses will improve the levels of mental and physical support for citizens in the different parts of the city. - Sustainable economy
We will continue to promote sustainable businesses. We will support ecological, social and innovative ideas. We want to stimulate more collaboration in the area of climate protection between businesses,
research hubs and the business sector in Regensburg. We want to work on a connected, carbon-neutral, logistical concept together with all businesses in the city. - Strengthening women
We will promote gender equality, increase the representation of women in public office and make the impact of political decisions on women in the city budget transparent. We want to improve the compatibility of family and career. We will increase the number of options for women who have suffered from violence and will also make these accessible for people with disabilities. - Fairness in traffic
We belive in collaboration between different transport providers and we support the Radentscheid (a successful citizens‘ petition for easier and safer biking) and its goals. We will champion more safety for all in traffic. To achieve this, Regensburg needs better and larger bike lanes and more Fahrradstraßen (streets which are mainly for bicycles). We will build safe bicycles parkings in all parts of the city. - Developing city districts further
We will strengthen city districts by creating more cultural offers and community centres, neigbourhood Facilities and open workshops. There we will offer space for culture and for social encounters. We will include all city districts in the democratic process by creating district parliaments because local citizens know best what is most important for their neighbourhoods and we understand that Regensburg is a diverse city.
